In the decades after World War II, the amusement park industry in South Florida is cruel and merciless. By 1954, George Rooks had established Aquafair as the premier attraction between the Broad Causeway and Hollywood Boulevard, featuring alligator wrestling, trained porpoises, and the famous “horse dive.” With the help of Lafe, his right-hand man, he has protected this domination ruthlessly, sometimes violently.
