Please join us for our third Block by Block event. Block by Block invites Miami based writers to engage specific communities and neighborhoods in Miami by providing lectures, workshops and other programming. This iteration will feature a discussion with Fringe Projects Curator Amanda Sanfilippo & participating artists on the nature of intervention-based temporary public art in Miami’s downtown.

Treating the city of Miami as a platform, Fringe Projects commissions temporary, site-determined projects in the public realm. Taking advantage of quickly changing conditions, Fringe invites artists to investigate Downtown Miami’s less conventional spaces, histories and daily existence with interventions and performances. Produced at sites chosen by the artists in a flexible timeline, projects span from a single event to months in duration. Inspired by world-class public art organizations Creative Time, New York and Artangel, London, Fringe Projects makes extreme efforts to privilege artists ideas and engage in a commissioning process that supports experimentation, field-work and in-depth research of sites and contexts.

Please RSVP to administrator@miamirail.org to confirm attendance!
